To all the ladies that need a doula, 

Let me start by saying, Do not think about it, just get one, they are amazing.  Before my daughter was born, Emma, my doula, came to see me for birthing classes; she made sure I was ready for the birth of my little one. On the day I was in the hospital to give birth, I was anxious and scared of what was happening, my baby couldn’t be born naturally; but when Emma came into my room, my fear was gone and I knew at that moment that her presence there made me feel more confident and capable to go through anything; no matter who else was there for my support, I connected with Emma and she helped me relax and understand what was happening. My daughter was born through C-Section, and Emma stayed around until she was sure my baby was safe and healthy and in mommy’s arms. 
After her birth, she gave me a lot of encouragement for breastfeeding in her postpartum visits and help me see the good I been doing as a mom, cause as a first time mom you feel like you are doing everything wrong.
All in all, I have to say, having a doula was the best and the only sure thing on my birth plan, and if I have to go through all of it again, I would not doubt on getting her help again. Emma was my support on difficult times.

Emma was more than a great Doula to me, she was there for me throughout my whole pregnancy. She served as a mentor, a friend, and taught me a lot of things like being patient for one. During my pregnancy she made sure that we attended our Ob visits, that I was emotionally healthy and that my baby was growing healthy. If I needed anything she was there to help out. The day of my delivery she was wonderful, she knows how to keep us calm while we are having all the pain and makes us feel important and valuable. I remember she offered ice and massaged my hip, which was very helpful because with that kind of pain we need it very much. After I delivered my baby, she made sure that I was ready to hold and breastfeed my blessing, which is a very vital part of the baby’s birth. It is so important to breastfeed the first part of the colostrums, and without the help of Emma it probably wouldn’t have happened. A doula is a great help and I would recommend Emma or anyone, she does a great job at what she does and I would have not changed her for the world. After my baby was born she still came home to visit a couple weeks after. She made sure we were doing ok on our feeding.. Even now she keeps in contact with us to make sure that we are doing fine. You will not regret having her as your Doula. She is a great person and I can assure you, you will not regret making her a part of this very important piece of your lives.

Let me start saying Emma is an AMAZING doula . I’m a single mother and going through labor with my first child I was very overwhelmed at the time .Emma walked me through all the labor process, my experience was phenomenal . Emma  taught me how to breath, how to push, how to keep motivated when I was giving up. Emma is one of a kind and I’m very blessed that she was there with me.

You made my birthing experience that much better…I can’t thank you enough! I changed from vaginal birth to a cesarean last minute and I have no regrets. All of the techniques. All of the pointers. Emma has been the absolute best. From the time we initially met to thedelivery of my daughter she offered nothing but exceptional services.The birth of my younger daughter was after a cesarean of my oldestdaughter. Emma coached me thru the entire delivery with the breathingtechniques, proper positioning and finally pushing. Emma visited us on my 34th week of pregnancy, at my most stressful time. By teaching detailed birth process, she gave me confidence, she always use hugs and warm smiles to comfort me and release my pressure. Without her help, I would definitely over stress myself and cause some unnecessary problems. 

The biggest favor we received from Emma is during delivery. Pain started in the morning and I called Emma, through phone conversation, she helped me to relax and decrease the pain. Active labor started from midnight and Emma came to me shortly after that, and she stayed with me the whole night, she is even more awaken than my husband in that night. After epidural, she helped me turn every 60 minutes; gave me valuable suggestions to accelerate the labor process; came to me whenever I felt uncomfortable. All of those help means a lot to me.

In labor process, she hold my leg and continued encourage me, the real “push” process only last 40 minutes, both me and my husband did not feel nervous and anxious at all during that process. Quote from our nurse “You guys are so lucky cause I have never seen such a good and experienced Doula”. Emma stayed with me in the labor room for over 12 hours and she smiles from the beginning to the end. We are so grateful.

After my daughter was born, Emma visited us again to follow my health situation, her help did not stop from there. My daughter had a lactation issue then I text Emma again, she introduced me to the lactation consultant and continued follow up with that. Both me and my husband appreciate her help a lot.
